Persuasive Techniques in Advertisements

This advertisement shown, is for SBP bug repellent. It claims that SBP brand spray will affectively remove all insects. The audience here, is for obviously those who need to remove insects from their homes and such, and also possible to a younger to middle age audience, who find the picture humorous, and therefore purchase the product. Possibly, the ethos in the advertisement is the humor applied in the advertisement, builds a more lackadaisical appeal and trust to the audience. Logos here is the picture here of a frog, one who eats insects, who is ironically is looking for food through his sign "will work for food". It demonstrates the effectiveness of the product through implying what other species might do humorously, though not realistically. The kairos technique present in the add is the simplicity of the add to generate one's individual interpretation. Although one of the few phrases added, in the lower right hand corner, "No insects left", adds an urgent appeal through a simple sentence.
